The Bound Realm Discord and Global Chat Rules
Last updated July 23, 2026
Respect
“To show regard or consideration for.”
This means that an individual accepts that people have differing opinions, ideals, desires, needs, and methods other than one’s own. To be respectful to another person requires allowing them room in your vicinity to have those differences. Even when it’s not returned, try to be respectful anyway to help keep the environment drama-free.
No Discrimination
Again, respect that people are different from you. Allow for them to be different in your vicinity. Discrimination against gender, sexual orientation, race, political affiliation, nationality, religious affiliation, age, kink preferences, or other generic categories will not be tolerated. No Controversy
Please avoid controversial topics like religion, politics, etc. in our Discord. These topics can be incendiary and divisive, which is counter to our goal of bringing people together for RP. If you find yourself discussing these topics, please take them to chats outside our Discord and Server. No Drama
Keep your OOC drama private. Do not air your grievances in public channels. If you have criticism for anyone in general, bring it up in a private message. No one likes to be criticized publicly. Be respectful when giving criticism. Saying things like “You are just being a dick” will not get you anywhere. “I would like to discuss why I disagree with your comment” will get a lot more traction and serious consideration. No Trolling
If you deliberately bait, pester, argue, or antagonize others for the sake of your own entertainment, you will get labeled a troll and be banned. Funning around is fine, but trying to make people angry is trolling and is not tolerated here.No Advertising
The only exception is to submit your ad to Staff members who have the power to make an announcement in the appropriate channel. Otherwise, advertising other servers here is not permitted. No Badmouthing
We all know there are servers and players out there most would prefer to avoid. However, spending our chat time discussing them brings that negativity into our space. It’s not wrong to want to vent, but don’t do it here in our public channels.Use Appropriate Channels
Please use the appropriate channels for topics. It makes it easier for everyone to find what they are looking for. The #ooc_chat channel is for trivial conversation and socializing and should not be used for important discussions. If you want a serious discussion, start a thread in a relevant channel, or submit a ticket to request a channel that would include the topic of your desired discussion.
No Spoilers
Don’t ruin the plot for others! Keep your meta knowledge close to the vest. Even the fairest RPers will accidentally use meta knowledge. A player might know a secret for real-life months and forget that their character doesn’t know it. Revealing meta details early also ruins the surprise of the big reveal. Keep your secrets and avoid gossiping about what you think might be going on behind the scenes. It most often leads to harmful assumptions and prevents good RP.Don’t Ask for Staff in Public Channels
Staff are also players, and they get very little time to actually play. If you need Staff help, submit a ticket. If Staff can get to it quickly, awesome. If not, please be patient. They are volunteers and not at your beck and call. Respect their efforts. If you feel we are taking too long, you could also volunteer and apply to join Staff to help out.
