The Bound Realm Core Rules
Last updated July 23, 2026
Discord is mandatory.
Participation in our Discord is necessary to play on the server, as it’s where announcements, support, and community interaction take place.Be respectful OOC.
Even if respect isn’t returned, we ask that you do your best to maintain it. We’re all adults here to have fun together. Please remember that Staff are volunteers giving their time to support the community and keep things running smoothly. A little patience and courtesy go a long way.Communicate OOC!
This is a high-conflict, capture-and-slavery-rich roleplay environment. It is important to communicate and be clear with your fellow players. Be open to being approached OOC, and also be willing to approach others OOC to communicate details. Most OOC conflicts occur because of assumptions made in the absence of communication.Adults Only
This is an 18+ community. If there is any uncertainty regarding a player’s age or maturity, Staff will err on the side of caution. Our priority is maintaining a safe and enjoyable space for adult roleplayers.Adult Characters Only
All characters must be clearly adult. No exceptions. This includes “ageless” or “childlike” characters presented as adults. While we recognize certain themes exist in fiction, visual environments like Conan Exiles come with legal and platform limitations, and we must adhere to those. No Hyper-Oversized Genitalia
Certain races have been granted largeness in that area for lore reasons. In other words, there are exceptions to this rule, but sizes should be reasonable or have a lore explanation. If a member of Staff determines a body part is too big, you will be notified. If you have an RP reason to back it up, Staff will take that into consideration, but it does not guarantee a pass.Pregnancy is permitted with limitations.
Reproduction can be part of storytelling, but it must be handled responsibly. Underage characters and NPCs are not permitted in these contexts and must remain out of view. Birth and child-rearing should take place off-screen and away from active danger or conflict. No Discrimination
This includes kink shaming. Any negative OOC behavior targeting race, religion, political views, sexual orientation, gender identity, or personal preferences will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action. You must have a Clan.
Even if you are solo, create a clan. This helps with organization and server systems. Characters without a clan may be subject to removal.RPR Gear
Players equipping RPR armor must reflect that armor in their Tot Appearance. That said, this server allows for “cheesecake” and “beefcake” interpretations of armor.
- Leather Armor: may be represented by minimal or fur-based outfits, such as a loincloth.
- Chain Armor: may be styled as a chainmail bikini.
- Plate Armor: can be represented by pieces such as a plate bustier with hip protection (fauld).
- High-heeled footwear: is permitted without penalty.
Weapons and shields must always be represented visually, though they do not need to be exact matches due to broader weapon categories. A depicted staff may be a Dual Medium Weapon, a Reach Weapon, or a Heavy Weapon. A whip may be a Small Weapon, Medium Weapon, or Reach Weapon.
All other gear should be represented to the best of your ability, but this is not something we intend to strictly police. We recognize that visual design is an important part of roleplay, just like emoting, and players should feel free to prioritize appearance while still respecting the spirit of the system.
Because all three RPR clothing styles are balanced and provide different benefits, it’s expected that some players may wear Common Clothes while appearing highly dressed, or vice versa. Similarly, certain visual elements, such as pauldrons, may appear even if their RPR counterpart is not equipped.
Character Limits
Players get one character at a time to start. Veteran status is earned after one month of active play without rule breaks and comes with access to a second character slot using a family-share account.
- Character Deletion: If you wish to delete a character, please submit a ticket. Let us know it’s to be deleted, provide an IC post about how the character is leaving Lythria, and include a “Will” explaining who is being gifted what before their departure.
- Put your character on a Shelf: Alternatively, you can Shelf your character instead of deleting it. This allows you to bring the character back later and retain gear, supplies, and history. Submit a ticket, include an IC departure post, and show screenshots of the gear you want to keep. Staff will remove those items from your inventory and let you know when you are safe to recreate.
Inactive Players
After one week of inactivity, characters will be reported as “Missing” IC and moved to Inactive status. A week after that, they will be presumed dead and removed. If you need to take an extended break and do not want your character and base build deleted, please open a ticket and provide an IC reason for each character’s absence. This helps ensure the story can continue smoothly.Dice Combat is Default
PVP is enabled, but the server is designed for Dice Combat. If all players involved in an IC conflict agree to Mechanical PVP, it is permitted. Otherwise, Dice Combat remains the standard. Some events may use Mechanical PVP instead of Dice Combat and will be clearly announced in advance.OOC Consent
OOC consent is required. While players are expected to accept the consequences of defeat, Capture and Death require OOC consent from the defeated character’s player. Both sides need to be amenable to alternative consequences that do not cross this boundary, such as being robbed of coin or a piece of gear, being left with a permanent scar, or something else you can both agree to. Beyond combat, pretty much everything else is by player consent.RP Time is not RL Time.
Everyone has different RP schedules. Some play daily, while others may only be available on weekends.
- Try to be mindful of your own availability and avoid expecting RP to be held up for you. If you primarily play on weekends, consider creating a character with an IC reason to be absent during the week. Let your story work with your schedule.
- If you play more frequently, be mindful of others’ availability. Avoid committing to long, ongoing scenes unless you are willing to wait. Fade-to-black (FTB) with a summary or “wrap-up” is often a great alternative.
- Time is a valuable resource. Be realistic about what you can commit to, avoid promising time you cannot give, and communicate if you will be late or unable to make it.
Take Responsibility for your Captives
When you take a captive or slave, you have a responsibility to make sure they are able to get RP. This may be achieved through magic tracking collars or chains that limit their ability to leave a location without binding them inside a cell. It may be as simple as letting your clan members know there is a captive to interact with. If you cannot meet this responsibility, find a way to ICly let the captive go, or communicate directly OOC that they should escape.
If you are a slave or captive who is being OOCly restricted from RP by IC restraints, you may absolutely escape. If you cannot ICly determine how your character could escape alone, you may invent a magic-wielding NPC, such as a fairy, angel, demon, or sorcerer of your race, to break you out.
Captive RP privacy is 48 RL hours
To put this bluntly, you get a 48-hour window to do your fun captive ERP before the White Knights are allowed to invade and deliver consequences. It’s not fair to keep the rest of the server waiting beyond that time frame. If you can’t handle consequences, don’t engage in capture RP.
- Exceptions apply to long-term or permanent enslavement storylines agreed upon by both captor and captive, but RP with the captive’s allies must still be facilitated by the captor to allow for resolution.
- Captures of major political, military, religious, or social figures tend to affect large groups of people. These events can trigger server-wide reactions and should be treated as server-wide storylines.
Roleplay Your Defeat
Whether by dice or Mechanical PVP, once a victor is determined, the Cons (consequences) phase begins. This is a three-round period of RP where the victor can bestow consequences upon the defeated. Possible consequences include being left for dead with injuries, capture, robbery, or other story-driven outcomes. More severe outcomes such as mutilation, enslavement, or similar scenarios require OOC consent. Permadeath may only occur with player consent or Staff approval. Some restrictions apply. Players are expected to approach this phase in good faith and with respect for collaborative storytelling.NPCs Matter, and your RP has Impact.
NPCs are all around in public places, even if there are no other players nearby. Roleplay in public locations is subject to NPC reactions as determined by Staff, particularly Storytellers and Admins. Depending on the severity of an interaction, it could affect the laws, policies, and practices of HUB settlements, or simply result in assumptions blasted through the Rumor Mill channel on Discord. Always assume there are witnesses unless you and your RP partners establish ICly that you are alone, as you also have limited control over NPCs.Have Fun.
If you’re not having fun, it’s okay to step away for a bit. Sometimes we get emotionally invested in our stories and forget that this is, at its core, a game. That’s completely human and understandable. Take a break, get some fresh air however you prefer to do that, and come back with a clearer head. It may not make frustrations disappear, but it can help you handle them in a healthier and more productive way.
